Donate to the LBM's Collection

The Lac-Brome Museum is currently accepting donations to its Collection (objects of local historical interest, fine and decorative arts, military items, etc.). The Collection aims to tell the history of Brome County from its earliest settlement through to the middle of the 20th century.

To offer objects to the Museum, please write to Please ensure to provide us with as much of the following information as possible:

  • What is the history of the artifact?

  • Are there any personal stories associated with it?

  • How did you acquire the artifact?

  • Are you the legal owner of the artifact?

Any pictures of the artifact are also of great help.

Unfortunately, the LBM cannot accept each artifact offered for its Collection. Decisions to accept a donation are based on the artifact's relevance to the LBM's historical mandate, the artifact's condition, whether the artifact fills a gap in our collection, the availability of storage and display space, and the ability of the LBM to properly care for the artifact.

Please do not send or drop off your items until LBM staff has requested for you to do so.

Once accepted by the LBM, the artifact becomes the property of the Brome County Historical Society and ownership cannot be returned. Please note that the LBM cannot guarantee that any objects will be on display as only a small percentage of our collection can be displayed at one time.
