About the Event

Join us on October 9 between 5 and 7 pm for a Vernissage to mark the opening of "Killing the Indian in the Child: Generations Lost", a travelling exhibition developed by the Legacy of Hope Foundation.

"Generations Lost" uses archival documents, photographs, and artifacts to explore the harsh realities faced by the 150,000 Indigenous children who were forced to attend Canadian Residential Schools. Though the last of the Residential Schools closed in the late 1990s, the intergenerational legacy of the program continues to impact Indigenous communities. This exhibition also examines the vital work of healing and Reconciliation led by survivors and their descendants.

Please note that due to the sensitive topics discussed in the exhibition, this event is not recommended for those below the age of 12.
