Built in the early 1800s, this pioneer-style log house was originally on the grounds of what is today the Knowlton Golf Course. It was occupied in 1815 by Paul Holland Knowlton and his family, as he pieced together the town. The house was expanded upon by its inhabitants over the years, including Christopher Dunkin. In 2014, it was at risk of demolition on its original site. At a special board meeting of the Brome County Historical Society, the decision was made to move the house to the Museum grounds.
 
Throughout 2015, the building was moved to the campus, thanks to a community-driven campaign. The restored Paul Holland Knowlton House was opened to the public at a special event in August of 2015. The permanent exhibition was opened in the House in 2016, and covers the United Empire Loyalists, the Abénaki, and the construction of the House.

Construite au début du XIXe siècle, cette maison en rondins de style pionnier se trouvait à l’origine sur le terrain appartenant maintenant au Club de golf de Knowlton. Paul Holland Knowlton y vivait avec sa famille en 1815, à l’époque où il bâtissait la ville. Au fil des ans, la maison a été agrandie par ses différents occupants, notamment Christopher Dunkin. Alors qu’elle risquait d’être démolie en 2014 sur son site d’origine, le conseil d’administration de la Société historique du comté de Brome décida de déplacer la maison sur le terrain du musée.
 
Le bâtiment a été déplacé en 2015 grâce à une campagne de financement menée par la communauté. La maison Paul Holland Knowlton restaurée a ouvert ses portes lors d’un événement spécial en août 2015. Inaugurée en 2016, l’exposition permanente porte sur l’histoire des loyalistes de l’Empire-Uni, les Abénaquis et la construction de la maison.
