Justus Billings (1794-1886) is an afro-descendant that came to live in Canada around 1820, and settled on a little piece of land in St. Armand East (Frelighsburg) near Pinnacle Hill in 1822 for around three years. In 1857, he decided to go live with Vinton Barnes' family, where he spent the rest of his life. He brought with him his personal Bible, and his family members are inscribed in the Family Records pages of the document, including his mother Mary Billings. The Bible was donated by Mildred Barnes Hastings of North Pinnacle or Sutton to the Bible House in Montreal, Quebec. Through the initiative of Henry Ball Shufelt, the Bible was transferred to the BCHS in 1961.

En 1822, il s'établit pendant environ trois ans sur une petite parcelle de terre à Saint-Armand-Est (Frelighsburg), près de la colline Pinnacle. En 1857, il décide d’aller vivre chez la famille de Vinton Barnes, où il y demeure pour le reste de sa vie. Il avait emporté avec lui sa bible personnelle, dans laquelle les membres de sa famille, dont sa mère Mary Billings, sont inscrits dans les pages consacrées aux registres familiaux. La Bible a été donnée par Mildred Barnes Hastings, de North Pinnacle ou de Sutton, à la Maison de la Bible à Montréal, Québec. À l’initiative d’Henry Ball Shufelt, la Bible a été transférée à la SHCB en 1961.
