This one-of-a-kind threshing machine was hand-crafted around 1790 by Frederick Primmerman II of St. Armand, who fought for the British in the American Revolution. Primmerman’s machine would have been considered cutting-edge technology for his time. The first mechanized threshing machine is believed to have been made by Andrew Meikle in Scotland in 1783. 
 
This threshing machine was featured in the 2009 Louise Abbott film, “Giving Shelter: Historic Barns of the Eastern Townships.”
